Understanding the Condition

About Colon Cancer

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer globally, yet one of the most preventable and treatable when caught early. Dr. Manish Singhal's clinic offers a fully integrated colorectal oncology programme — from advanced screening colonoscopy and polyp surveillance through to minimally invasive surgical resection, FOLFOX/FOLFIRI chemotherapy, and biologic agents including bevacizumab and cetuximab. For MSI-high tumours, immunotherapy with pembrolizumab offers transformative outcomes.

Prevention & Early Detection

Colonoscopy screening from age 45 (or 40 if family history)
Polypectomy of adenomatous polyps during colonoscopy
High-fibre, plant-rich diet with limited red and processed meat
Regular physical exercise — 30 minutes daily significantly reduces risk
Maintaining healthy body weight
Aspirin chemoprevention in high-risk individuals (under medical supervision)

Our Treatment Approach

Stage I–II colon cancer is treated with curative laparoscopic or robotic colectomy. Stage III receives adjuvant FOLFOX chemotherapy for 6 months. Metastatic disease is evaluated for resectability — those with liver-only metastases may be converted to resectable with FOLFOX + bevacizumab. RAS wild-type patients receive cetuximab for improved response. MSI-high patients benefit dramatically from pembrolizumab monotherapy.
